Description

Students read an adventure story in comic-book format. In the story, twin brother and sister free their unjustly imprisoned parents, with the help of a heroic space pilot and a robot dog. The unit is broken into five short chapters. In each, students follow the protagonists in pursuit of their goal. Each chapter provides additional information about the twins antagonists that will help students predict the outcome. Each chapter provides students with vocabulary, language, and contextual information they can include in their final task. There are also many opportunities for students to predict story turns and to analyse characters and plot.
