Pathfinders & Passageways The Exploration of Canada
Who were Canada's explorers? Many men and women contributed to the exploration of this country. This Web site presents pieces of some of the explorers' published descriptions of their travels through this new land where they met new people and strange animals. Works of art, maps and other artifacts are also included in this site.
Saskatchewan is blessed with a diverse population that includes Métis and First Nations people. This Web site provides a brief history of the First Nations people in Saskatchewan, outlining 13 major events that have affected the First Nations people.
| Timeline | |
1. Click First Nations History In this activity you create a timeline about events in the history of Saskatchewan's First Nations. 2. Thirteen short articles are presented on the Web site. Click here to download an organizer on which to record information. Write down significant dates and describe what happened on those dates. Be careful: some articles contain more than one date that you may think is important, while other articles may not include dates. 3. After completing your organizer, create a timeline of Saskatchewan First Nations History. Pages 10 and 11 of InfoCanada Saskatchewan show an example of a timeline. Your timeline should include at least 10 entries, but it can include as many as you like. |
