Have you ever seen a Tundra Peregrine Falcon? What about a Harlequin Duck, or a Polar Bear? Protecting the environment so that Nunavut's wild life is safe is one of the challenges the territory faces. Visit this site to find out which mammals, birds, and fish of the Arctic are endangered.

1. Visit the Endangered Arctic Species Web site. 2. Read the definitions of extinct, endangered, threatened, special concern. Then scroll down the page to learn about Nunavut's species at risk. 3. Explore the wildlife links that tell you about Nunavut's species at risk. Which animals, birds, and fish are in danger? Where are they found? What is their status? Make notes on at least two species from each category: mammals, birds, fish. Click here to download a worksheet on which you can gather information. 4. Make an oral presentation on the species of your choice based on the information you gathered.
