| Flow Chart and Role Play | |
1. Go to A Saga of Discovery 2. Read the information about the Vikings' journeys to Labrador and Newfoundland. 3. Create a flow chart to summarize the sequence of events from the first voyage to when the Vikings left the new land for good. Choose a title for your flow chart. 4. Work in a small group to choose a particular moment or event to act out in a short scene. Include facts from the Web article and use your imagination to add any details that would be appropriate. For instance, you might act out a scene showing the Vikings as they leave the settlement at L'Anse aux Meadows. Why have they decided to leave? What are their feelings as they get ready to leave? Present your scene to the class. |
