Canadian
Landscapes
Few people have the opportunity to visit the Arctic
in person. This Web site provides the opportunity to view some of the
incredible landscape and landform features of the region through a series
of photographs. To access these excellent images, select a region within
the Arctic (the Innuitian, the Arctic Lowlands, and the Arctic Coastal
Plains) and a keyword (optional) from the list of specific types of landforms.
Places
of Power
The Inuit have always had a powerful relationship with the land. This Web
site provides the opportunity to learn about their spirituals connections
with the environment as viewed through inuksuit, the stone structures the
Inuit have traditionally built across the Arctic. (Inuksuit is the plural
of inuksuk.) Be sure to click on the illustrated box at the bottom right
corner of the Web page to connect to a photographic display with descriptions
on many different inuksuit across the Arctic.
