Bluenose
Some students may already by familiar
with the Bluenose. It has appeared on a Canadian stamp and it
is shown on one side of the current Canadian dime. There is also a replica
of the ship in Halifax. This Web site tells students about the history
of this famous sailing ship. You can use this site to launch investigations
into other famous watercraft, such as the fishing dory in the Appalachian
region.
The
Halifax Port Authority
The Halifax Port Authority controls traffic and
activities at this busy east coast port. At this Web site, students can
learn all about the port of Halifax, including information about current
events and activities. Encourage students to use the link buttons at the
site and to look for similar Web sites for other port authorities in the
region.
