This digital collection brings Alberta's history to life through pictures and text. The home page allows you to choose by subject or alphabetical listing. There are several digital collections for Alberta; the one described here is Alberta Past to Present, and it focuses on settlement. A link to educational resources allows you to search for material by province, language, subject, or age range.
The statistical profiles of Canadian communities provide 2001 Census data for close to 6,000 communities, 288 counties (or their equivalents), 27 large, and 113 smaller metropolitan areas. Data is provided for a wide range of topics, including population, education, income and work, and families and dwellings. This activity provides an introduction for students to the Statistics Canada Web site.
